August Pullman, a.k.a. “Auggie”, has not been in mainstream schools up to this point because he was born with a facial difference. However, in fifth grade, he and his family decide to enroll him at Beecher Prep. He faces challenges, but with family and friend support, Auggie learns perseverance against the odds and, in the process, inspires many people. The book starts off from Auggie’s perspective, but it also has chapters narrated by his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and other characters.
